Set up your firm

This article applies to:Avalara Returns for Accountants

To get started using Returns for Accountants, adjust your firm settings and add a separate account for each of your clients.


  1. Add a firm administrator
    Before you can access Returns for Accountants for the first time, you need to add a firm administrator. If you're already signed in to Returns for Accountants, you can skip this step.
  2. Adjust your firm settings
    Adjust these settings to customize your returns preparation workflow. Firm settings apply to all client companies, unless you adjust the settings for a company separately. 
  3. OptionalAdd an account for each client
    To help keep track of your clients, Avalara recommends adding a separate account for each client.
