Set up filing status preferences

As a system administrator or manager, you can set up filing alerts displayed in the Dashboard tab for the fillings stuck in a specific filling status for a specific number of days. For example, let’s assume that you have fillings that are shipped, but these fillings haven’t moved as expiring or expired fillings. In this case, the filling status remains in the shipped status. You can set up an alert to get notifications about fillings that have stayed in the shipped status for more than 30 days. 

The Filling Status Alerts page displays all filling steps that you have enabled in the Filling Steps Timeline page. For each step on this page, you can enable filling alerts displayed in the Dashboard tab. To know more about the timeline of the filling steps, see Configure filling steps timeline

Note

The filling status alerts that you define here are applied to all users in the application.

Steps

  1. From the Avalara License Management home page, select the drop-down arrow on the navigation bar, and then select Setup.
  2. Go to System settings > Filing status alert
  3. Enable the alert on necessary steps to be alerted about filings that have remained at a filing status after a certain number of days. 
  4. Enter the number of days value for each filing step you have enabled.  
  5. Select Save.
