Create a data group

This article applies to:

Default groups are always displayed on a relevant page. But, you can configure a custom group to always appear or appear in specific conditions on a page.   


  1. From the Avalara License Management home page, select the drop-down arrow on the navigation bar, and then select Setup.
  2. Go to Customize > Data groups.  
  3. Select a tab where you want to add a custom group, and then select New group
  4. Enter a custom group name. 
  5. Decide when you want a custom group to appear: 
    Choose from: 
    • To always display the custom group, select Show always
    • To conditionally display the custom group, select Show when and create the condition. 
  6. Select the default display.
    Choose from: 
    • To always display all custom group details, select Expanded
    • To display only the header of the custom group, select Collapsed
  7. To activate this custom group, select Yes
  8. Click Save
