Managing Companies

After successfully logging into Avalara India GST Returns, the default landing page is the Companies page. When logging in for the first time, users will need to create a company with PAN and GSTIN details.

Creating a Company

To create a new company:

  1. Login to Avalara India GST Returns 
  2. Click Manage Companies
  3. Click Add PAN, to add organization name or register PAN name
  4. Enter the Organization Name, PAN number and click SAVE
  5. Click Add a GSTIN
  6. Complete all of the required fields and click SAVE

The new company will be added.

Managing staff

Once a company has been created, staff can be added to the company. Adding staff allows for the creation of workflows that assist with the distributing of compliance tasks amongst multiple staff members.

Adding staff

To add a new staff member:

  1. Click Manage Companies
  2. Browse to the relevant company
  3. Click Add Staff
  4. Within the Add staff pop-up, enter the name and email address of the staff member.
  5. Click Save

The selected staff member will receive an email with log-in credentials, enabling them to access their Avalara India GST Returns account. Repeat this process to add all of the required staff members.

Managing staff members

Once a staff member has been invited to join Avalara India GST Returns, their user account will not be assigned to a role within the company. An administrator will need to assign a relevant role to each staff member within the company.

To associate a staff member to a role within a company:

  1. Click Manage Companies
  2. Browse to the relevant company
  3. Click Assign Staff, a pop-up menu will appear.
  4. Select the user and assign a desired role of either Approver, Payer, or Maker.
  5. Click Invite
