Delete an exempt customer record.
Before you begin
Customers cannot be deleted if they have any active or expired exemptions. Stop applying an exemption certificate before deleting the customer.
- In the Avalara Home page menu, select Exemptions.
The Customer Exemptions page opens.
- Find your exempt customer in the list.
- Select the trash icon to the right of Details.
If the trash icon is grayed out, it means that you have active or expired exemptions on file for the customer. Stop applying an exemption certificate before deleting the customer.
- Select Delete Exempt Customer in the message that appears to confirm that you'd like to delete the customer.
