Set up AvaTax Cross-Border to automate tariff code classification and calculate customs duties wherever you ship products.
Milestones
- Tell AvaTax where to calculate customs duties
Add the countries where you sell and ship products. Turn customs duty calculations on or off.- Add non-US countries where you collect customs duties.
AvaTax checks your selected countries whenever items are classified or duties are calculated. - Manage the importer of record and establishment settings.
Adjust the importer of record setting based on your shipping agreement. If the seller pays duties and taxes during checkout as part of a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) shipping agreement, make sure the Importer of Record setting is set to Yes in that country.
If you already set up AvaTax, double-check your countries and their importer of record settings before uploading your product catalog.
