Change the default country or currency

  1. In AvaTax, go to Settings > All AvaTax Settings. 
  2. Next to Advanced Company Settings, select Manage.
  3. Select the settings you want to apply to your company.
    • Default country
      Select the country you want to use for a transaction's origin and destination address, unless you specify a different country or countries when entering the transaction. This determines the tax calculations. 
    • Default currency
      Select the currency you want to use for tax calculations.
  4. Select Save Settings.

Avalara doesn't keep track of currency conversions, so make sure that all transactions being sent to AvaTax are in your default currency.
