Add more address options to a transaction

AvaTax requires additional information to calculate taxes other than sales and use tax. Make sure transactions from your business application include additional address information, or add more address options to an existing transaction.

Before you begin

Additional address options aren't available for all transactions and AvaTax subscriptions. Contact your account manager if you're interested in additional address types

Steps

  1. In AvaTax, go to Transactions > Transactions.
  2. When adding a new transaction:
    • Add your document details, including a Ship From and Ship To address.
    • Under Address Options, select the address type that you want to add and then complete the required fields.
    • Save your document details and then add line items.
  3. When editing an existing transaction:
    • Find your transaction and select its Doc Code to view transaction details.
    • Select Edit Document Details.
    • Under Address Options, select the address type that you want to add and then complete the required fields.
    • Save your document details and recalculate the transaction if necessary.
