What should I do with notices about changes to the return filing process?


You received a sales or use tax change noticeHoverTT.png related to the way returns are filed and want to know what to do with the notice.


Avalara Returns


  • For changes to your filing frequency, form, registration ID, etc.
  • For changes to the Department of Revenue's filing process in general (not particular to your account)
    • Our Content and Compliance teams receive general change notifications from the states/counties/cities
    • You do not need to send a general update notice to Avalara
