How do I reset my license key?


You need to reset your license key in the Admin Console.

  • Resetting the key breaks all existing connections, instantly, so we recommend using the current license key
    • It's the same as resetting a password 
    • Search an Account Admin's email for an email from Avalara containing the full Account Number
    • Check the Configuration Settings in any connected accounting software
  • To obtain a new license key have one of your Account Admin users log in to the Admin Console and go to Settings >  Reset license key > Generate
    • A new license key is emailed to all Account Admin users (as shown in the Manage Users page)
      • If the license key reset email is not found in the inbox, please check your junk/spam folder
      • Please check company email filter or quarantine software as well
      • Update ALL connected systems with the new license key to continue their use of the Avalara service
