Avalara is expiring duplicate jurisdiction records in AvaTax. Duplicate jurisdictions in the following states will be expired effective April 1, 2020: AR, GA, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, WA, and WV.
Action is required if you maintain custom taxability rules in the states listed above. You need to expire the custom rules for expiring jurisdictions effective March 31, 2020 and create corresponding custom taxability rules for the equivalent active jurisdictions effective April 1, 2020.

If you do not maintain custom taxability rules in the states listed above, no action is required.
New nexus jurisdiction updates
The following jurisdictions are new local jurisdictions. An update to the jurisdiction selection of your company may be required. Learn how to tell us where you collect and pay tax. If these are mandatory jurisdictions, we automatically selects them if you collect and pay tax in the corresponding state. You don't need to add them.
