What is an Apostille?

An Apostille or Hague Apostille is an international certification under the terms of the Apostille Convention which certifies a document's validity removing the need for double certification (by the originating country and then by the receiving country). It is generally issued by the Ministry of Foreign or External Affairs from the originating country, but can also be issued by embassies, ministries, courts, or (local) governments.

For a full list of countries that are party to the Apostille Convention, follow this link.
