How to submit a Support case

Before Submitting a Case

Before submitting a Support case, please review the online help to ensure that your issue has not already been addressed in the documentation. The FAQ sections contain a number of solutions to common issues.

If your issue is related to a VAT return, please use the in-app messaging feature to contact the returns team.

Submitting a Case

  1. Browse to the Submit a Case page
  2. Select VAT Returns. If you are unsure what Avalara product or service you are using, please see this help article.
  3. Please provide details of your issue. As you are typing, suggested help topics will be shown on the screen, please review the suggestions to see if any of the help topics address your particular issue.
  4. Complete all of the required details then click Continue
  5. Verify the details are correct, if you need to make any corrections, click the Make Changes button.
  6. Click Next
  7. To include screenshots or other relevant files, select the Upload Files option to upload the files.
  8. You will receive an email from Avalara once the query is submitted. A Case Number will be assigned to the query and all communication from Avalara Support will use the assigned case number.

An Avalara Support Representative will reach out to you by email to assist with resolving the query.
