This CertCapture feature is not supported by AvaTax. If you use CertCapture with AvaTax, mark the certificate as invalid to temporarily collect tax from a customer.

Before you begin

If you receive a compliance document that is missing information such as a business name or signature, mark it as invalid instead.
If your AvaTax account is linked to your CertCapture company, stop applying exemptions in AvaTax.

  1. In CertCapture, search for the customer you want to edit.
  2. Select the customer number to see the customer details.
  3. On the Taxability Info tab, select Add Override.
  4. Choose the state and select Taxable as the exempt reason.
  5. Save the override.
